How to install Microsoft fonts in Ubuntu

It took fonts to write the document and exactly as it turns out in Word on Windows, and we have here the editor LibreOffice, and the operating system Ubuntu. So let’s install these fonts.

Installation of Microsoft fonts in Ubuntu

There is a ready-made package, just start the terminal with the key combination CTRL+ALT+T, the terminal window will open and enter the command:

sudo apt-get install ttf-mscorefonts-installer

During the installation process you will be asked to agree that you can install and use these fonts as much as you like, but they are Microsoft property. Admit it or they will not be installed.

and you need to update the fonts cache so that you don’t have to reboot your computer, but start using just the fonts installed, here’s the command:

sudo fc-cache -fv

Now you have the fonts, use them:

Delete Microsoft fonts

Removing fonts is as easy as anything in Ubuntu, here is the command line:

sudo apt-get purge ttf-mscorefonts-installer
