The Windows Recycle Bin

When you hover over the recycle Bin icon on the Desktop, a pop-up appears reading: “is Used to temporarily store files and folders that have been deleted”. To change this label, use a string parameter InfoTip in section

which indicate the desired string (e.g., “Here is trash”)

If you want to return the original value, then record to the specified parameter string @%SystemRoot%system32SHELL32.dll,-22915

A new name for the basket

To change the name for Recycle bin, is enough to bring up the context menu and select Rename.

For developers: the new name of the recycle bin, see HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionExplorerCLSID{645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E}. Assign the default value of the desired row to get the name of the basket.

Removes the icon from the Desktop

To remove the Trash icon from the Desktop, go to HKCUSOFTWAREMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionExplorerDesktopNameSpace and delete the subkey {645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E}

Using the Recycle bin for removable drives

By default, the Trash is not created on removable drives, but with the parameter RecycleBinDrives in section HKCUSoftwareMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionPoliciesExplorer you can change this behavior of the operating system. This parameter is a bitmask, each bit of which determines the drive letter on which to create a Basket file. If you set this parameter to 0хffffffff, the Basket file will be created on all disks.

If you want to remove the item Properties from the context menu Basketthen, create a DWORD value NoPropertiesRecycleBin with a value of 1 in section HKCUSoftwareMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionPoliciesExplorer

Policy: computer Configuration (user Configuration) → Administrative templates → desktop → Remove “Properties” from the context menu for the component “Basket”

You can also configure various settings in the properties of the Recycle bin

Lock checkbox to Request confirmation to delete

To block the box To request delete confirmation in the properties of the Recycle bin, see HKCUSOFTWAREMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionPoliciesExplorer set the DWORD parameter ConfirmFileDelete a value of 1 (see figure).

Deletion of files bypassing the recycle Bin

If the section HKCUSOFTWAREMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionPoliciesExplorer you set the DWORD NoRecycleFiles a value of 1, then the system will not use the recycle Bin to store deleted files – files and folders will be deleted, bypassing it. In the properties of the Recycle bin will lock the possibility of changing the bin size and the state of the check box to Destroy the file immediately after the deletion instead of moving them to the trash
