Although the application owned by Facebook does not give users full control, there are ways to limit the data they collect and the types of ads that appear.

Instagram is a real money machine. Facebook does not publish accurate data on how much it earns from this app, but reports say it received about $20 billion in advertising revenue, a quarter of Facebook’s total annual revenue. In other words, it is more money than YouTube earns for Google.

You can also remove contacts that you may have connected to Instagram using your phone number. This includes clearing names and phone numbers. Instagram and Facebook take over your contacts to send promotional offers to your friends, but they also learn about your social activities.
